전환학습의 관점에서 예비교사의 교육실습의 가치 탐색

이 연구는 중등학교 교사의 인력양성을 위한 직전 교육(pre-service training)에서 자발적으로 교직을 선택한 비사범대생들이 교육실습 과정에서 어떤 경험을 하는지에 대한 가치탐구에 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해중․고등학교에서 교육실습을 마친 대학생 20명의 반성적 실습일지와 사후 평가인터뷰 자료를 바탕으로 교육실습의 가치를 전환학습의 관점에서 탐구하였다. 비사범대생들은 학교현장에서 교육실습을 통하여 다양한 경험을 한다. 먼저 교육실습생들은 교사가 학생에게 무한한 사랑과 관심을 베푸는 존재임을 알게 된다. 그리고 실제수업을 경험하면서 완벽한 수업을 위해서는 철저한 수업준비가 있어야 함을 깨닫게 해준다. 또한 교사는 수업만하는 고결한 직업이 아니라 다양한 행정업무를 하는 바쁜 직업임을 알게 된다. 그리고 교육실습 동안에 겪는 부정적 또는 긍정적 경험을 통하여 교직을 단념하거나 또는 열망하게 되는 계기를 갖게 된다. 이러한 것을 전환학습의 관점에서 본다면 의미틀과 의미시각이 변화하는 것으로 판단된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the meaningful experiences of student teachers who volunteeredto participate in the teaching practicum program as part of the secondary school teacherpre-service training process. For this purpose the researcher investigated the value of the teachingpracticum program from transformational learning theory perspective by analyzing the written journalsand post-practicum interviews of twenty student teachers. The student teachers had diverse experiencesduring their secondary school teaching practicum. First, all the student teachers wereaware that a teacher should care and consider the needs of all the students. During the teachingthe practicum the student teachers understood the importance of being fully prepared for eachlesson. The student teachers also discovered that middle school teachers professional responsibilitiesextends beyond the classroom to include miscellaneous administrative work. In light of this, somestudent teachers confessed that they would abandon their future dreams of becoming a middleschool teacher while others stated they remain determined to become a middle school teacherbased on the success of the teaching practicum. These findings can be understood in terms of thetransformational learning theory.
