이 논문은 우리시대에 절박하게 요청되는 평화의 원리를 레비나스 윤리학을 통해 고찰하고 있다. 레비나스는 오늘날의 폭력의 진원을 타자의 타자성을 불인하고 배제하는 서구의 동일성과 전체성의 사유 속에서 찾고 있다. 전체성의 사고가 초래하는 폭력적 사유 너머로 제안되는 평화의 원리는 탈자아 중심적인 다원성의 관계, 인간의 얼굴에 대한 인간의 책임 등이다. 레비나스는 타인의 얼굴이라는 메타포를 통해 모든 존재자가 보편적인 윤리적 요청을 담고 있음을 해명한다. 사람들 사이의 공동체적 연대성과 유대는 바로 얼굴의 요청과 호소에 응답하는 책임성에서 성립된다. 나아가 그 누구로도 대신 될 수 없는 인간의 유일성은 타자의 요청과 호소에 응답하는 자, 바로 타자의 고통에 대한 책임에서 발생한다는 주장의 의미 해명을 통해 평화윤리의 윤리적 토대를 고찰하고 있다. .
Abstract
In this article, I study on the principle of peace on the basis of Emmanuel Levinas' ethics. Levinas find out the origin of violence in the thoughts of the totality and the same which exclude and deny the alterity of the other. The principle of peace supposes the relation of plurality which is non-egocentrism, the human responsibility of the face of the other. Levinas explains that all beings contain the universal ethical appeal by the metaphor of the face. The solidarity and bond among the people is accomplished by the responsibility which responds to demands and appeals of the other. Furthermore, I explain the foundation of the peace ethics that the unicite of human being is formed by the response to the appeal of the other and in the responsibility to the suffering of the other.
