Abstract

In this essay, I tried to find the environmental ethics for sustainable life of mankind. First of all I arranged the nature of environmental problems synthetically and then pointed out the seriousness of environmental problems from a point of view that they exceed the sustainable limit of the earth. And I grasped and considered the causes of environmental problems in three aspect including the level of an outlook on the world, reaching(excess of) the limit to the (economical) growth, and the human restriction or limit. In spite of pessimistic reality of overall environmental deterioration, I introduced social conditions or trends that gives us hope. Next, I tried to approach the solution of environmental problems in the aspects of consciousness and institution and suggested the effort to construct sustainable civilization in macroscopic and microscopic viewpoint. And finally, I argued the dialectical integration between anthropocentricism and ecocentricism as the philosophical basis of environmental ethics and argued the status of environmental ethics in moral education and then the method of moral education for environmental ethics preliminarily.
