본고는 현대윤리학의 동기화 논쟁에서 도덕적 행위 동기화 이론의 약한 내재주의의 학문적 정당성과 실효성을 논구하는 것을 1차적 목적으로 삼는다. 본고는 이를 토대로 도덕적 앎과 실천, 도덕의 규범성과 실천성을 연계함으로써 도덕 판단 능력과 도덕적 실천 능력을 겸비한 도덕적 인간을 육성하려는 도덕과교육의 학문적 정당성과 현실 적합성을 논구하고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 위해, 본고는 현대윤리학의 동기화 논쟁에서 도덕적 행위 동기화 이론의 내재주의와 외재주의를 비교·분석하였다. 도덕적 행위 동기화 이론의 약한 내재주의는 일상의 도덕 현상을 적절히 설명할 수 있고, ‘도덕적 앎과 실천을 연계하려는’ 윤리학의 본질을 적절한 방식으로 실현할 수 있다. 따라서 도덕적 행위 동기화 이론의 약한 내재주의는 학생들을 도덕 판단 능력, 도덕적 실천 능력, 도덕적 반성 능력을 갖춘 도덕적 인간으로 육성하려는 도덕과교육의 목표 실현에 기여할 수 있다. 그리고 이러한 약한 내재주의는 지난 20여 년 동안 동기화 문제를 중심으로 제기된 도덕과교육에 대한 비판을 불식시킬 수 있는 대응 방안이 될 수 있으리라고 기대된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the academic legitimacy and effectiveness of a weak version of internalism of moral motivation theory in recent moral philosophy. Based on this discussion, this paper aims to discuss the academic legitimacy and effectiveness of moral subject education. That is to say, this paper aims to ascertain if a target of moral subject education can be achieved, which is to foster the morality of student by linking moral knowledge and moral practice, normativity and practicality. For this purpose, this paper tries to analyze the internalism and externalism of moral motivation theory. By this analysis, this paper suggests that a weak version of internalism explains properly moral experience of everyday life and the nature of ethics, which aims to link moral knowledge and moral practice. Thus, a weak version of internalism can be the ethical foundation of moral subject education, which will foster moral judgment, moral practice skills, moral reflection capability of students. Finally, a weak version of internalism can make sure that the criticism of moral subject education can't be justified.
