Abstract
Human engineering has emerged as a new type of solution to the problem of climate change. It involves the biomedical modification of humans to make them better at mitigating climate change. Advocates of human engineering argue that if existing solutions and human engineering are implemented in parallel, they can be an effective means of dealing with the problem of climate change. They suggest that human engineering should be a voluntary activity implemented through incentives such as tax breaks and sponsored healthcare rather than a coerced, mandated activity. In this article, I focused on dissecting the problems of human engineering approaches to climate change. To this end, the following three points are addressed in this article through literature analyses. First, I looked at the concept & social impacts of climate change and two coping strategies toward climate change. Second, I have identified the examples of human engineering to climate change. Third, I did analyze the practical and potential ethical problems of human engineering to the problem of climate change.
