초록

This study aimed to determine the effects of a 12-week Feldenkrais Method program on autonomic nervous system(ANS) balance, cumulative fatigue, and interhemispheric brain imbalance in university students. Thirty-nine male students were assigned to either a Feldenkrais group(n=20) receiving Awareness Through Movement(ATM) lessons twice weekly and a control group(n=19) receiving no intervention. The results showed clear group differences in ANS function. Sympathetic Nervous activity decreased by 3.32% in the Feldenkrais group, while the control group showed a small increase of 0.49% (F=8.574, p<.01). Parasympathetic Nervous activity increased in both groups, but there was a significant overall group effect (F=4.499, p<.05). Cumulative fatigue dropped by 8.22% in the Feldenkrais group, whereas it rose by 2.80% in the control group (F=5.925, p<.05). Interhemispheric brain imbalance decreased slightly in both groups, but this change was not statistically significant. Overall, these findings suggest that the Feldenkrais Method can help restore ANS balance and reduce fatigue. By focusing on sensory awareness and self-regulation, it shows promise as a practical somatic approach for supporting autonomic and neurological health.
