초록
This study armed to determine the effects of a 12-week Feldenkrais Method program(ATM), on gait length, gait time, and gait angle in university students. A total of 24 participants were divided into a Feldenkrais group (n=12) and a control group (n=12). Feldenkrais sessions conducted over 12 weeks. The results showed that gait length increased in both the Feldenkrais and control groups. However, the changes were not statistically significant within each group. A significant group effect was observed (F=5.340, p<.05), suggesting a difference in overall gait length trends between the two groups, regardless of intervention timing. Gait time significantly increased in the Feldenkrais group for both left and right steps (left: from 0.71 sec to 0.86 sec, right: from 0.69 sec to 0.84 sec; both p<.05). In contrast, the control group did not show statistically significant changes. Significant main effects were found for both group (F=10.708, p<.01) and time (F=5.875, p<.05), indicating that the intervention positively influenced gait time. Regarding gait angle, no statistically significant differences were observed overall. However, a significant time effect was identified for the left side (F=4.936, p<.05), the Feldenkrais Method was shown to have a statistically significant effect on gait time and partial effects on gait angle in healthy young adults. These findings suggest that Feldenkrais-based movement education may enhance coordination and control in gait patterns, even in non-clinical populations. Further studies with extended durations and biomechanical assessments are recommended to confirm these effects more comprehensively.
