초록
This study explores the potential of utilizing private billiard halls as a convergent welfare-economic model to address two major social challenges in South Korea: enhancing the quality of life for the elderly and revitalizing local commercial districts, as the country approaches a super-aged society by 2025. By repurposing underutilized daytime hours in private billiard halls as venues for senior leisure programs, the study highlights their potential to improve physical health, cognitive function, and social engagement among older adults, while also contributing to the economic diversification of local small businesses and increasing foot traffic in traditional markets. Through literature review, case analysis, and policy document examination, this study presents practical strategies and policy proposals to support the social utilization of private sports facilities and promote integrated development in welfare and local economies.
