Abstract
This study aims to examine the current status and key issues of AI-based education in Germany and to derive implications for its implementation in South Korea. o this end, the study analyzes the present state and major characteristics of AI-based education in Germany, and evaluates the key challenges that arise in the process of implementing AI-based education. Based on this analysis, the study draws implications necessary for the effective implementation of AI-based education in South Korea. he findings indicate that AI-based education in Germany is viewed positively for its potential to enable personalized learning, support standardized instruction, and facilitate learning beyond the limitations of time and space. However, several concerns have been raised regarding its implementation. These include limitations in achieving educational goals when AI replaces the role of teachers, as well as a lack of socialization due to reduced interaction between teachers and students, and among students themselves. Additional concerns involve the instrumental use of AI-based media turning into an end in itself, and ethical issues related to data collection and usage. his study suggests that, for the effective implementation of AI-based education, it is essential to clearly define the role of educators in alignment with educational goals and to establish strategies that address the limitations in teacher-learner and learner-learner interaction. Furthermore, it is necessary to prevent the instrumental use of AI-based media from becoming the primary goal, and to develop clear guidelines for the ethical collection and use of data.
