한국의 EU 및 주요 교역국에 대한 경제통합 효과 추정

본 연구에서는 한국과 EU 및 주요 교역국을 대상으로 전통적인 중력모형과 구매력환율 모형을 도입하여 경제통합, FTA, 문화, 환율 등이 교역에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기위해 White’s χ2 검정을 통하여 이분산 검정을 한 다음에 일반화된 최소자승법(GLS)을사용하여 실증적으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 한국과 EU 및 주요 교역국 간 무역에서 특히 상대국의 경제규모와 일인당 소득액은 모든 모형에서 무역창출의 효과가 나타나 한국의 교역에 중요한 요소로 나타났다. 그러나 교역국 간 거리는 여전히 한국의 교역에무역 전환의 효과를 지속적으로 나타내는 변수로 나타났다. 그 외 인구와 구매력평가, 문화 변수는 교역에 별다른 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타난 반면, FTA는 일부 모형에서는 무역 창출의 효과가 다소 나타났다. 경제통합 효과 중 ASEAN의 경제통합은 한국에 무역창출의 효과를 가져 오는 것으로 확인된 반면, EU는 한국의 무역 증감에 별다른 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This paper analyses trade patterns between Korea and its major trade partners, using the Gravity Model, with a variety of independent variables, including Cultural factors, Purchasing Power Parities, and economic integration with the EU and the ASEAN, as well as other free trade agreements. The empirical analysis uses Generalized Least Square because of Heteroskedasticity through White’s χ2 test. The results show an obvious creation of GDP and personal GDP. However the Distance Effect is still a strong obstacle to increasing trade volume. PPP and Culture show neither trade creation or trade diversion while the FTA shows trade creation in some models. With regard to the economic integration effect, ASEAN brought trade creation to Korea but the EU didn’t show trade creation or trade diversion.
