교육이 한국 수출입액에 상호 미친 영향에 관한 연구

초록

우리나라는 어려운 환경 속에서도 교육(螢窓雪案)으로 성장 발전한 나라이다. 이 연구는 교육이 우리나라의 수출입액에 미치는 상호 영향을 실증적으로 분석하고 한 실증적인 연구이다. 본 연구에서 사용한 자료는 교육지수가 발표되기 시작한 2005년 06월 30일부터 2023년 02월 28일까지 214개의 교육지수와 한국 수출액 및 수입액 월간 시계열 자료이다. 교육지수와 한국 수출액과 수입액 월간 시계열 자료 간의 인과관계와 상호영향력을 살펴봄으로써 교육지수와 한국 수출액 및 수입액 월간 시계열 자료 간의 영향력 정도를 분석하고자 한다. 교육지수와 한국 수출액 및 수입액 월간 시계열 자료의 단위근 검정, 교육지수와 한국 수출액 및 수입액 월간 시계열 자료의 예측오차 분산분해와 충격반응분석 모형, 교육지수와 한국 수출액 및 수입액 월간 시계열 자료 간의 Granger 인과관계(Granger causality) 검정을 수행하였다. 교육이 한국 수출액 및 수입액에 미치는 상호 영향에 대한 모든 분석은 Eviews version 7.0을 통해 수행하였다. 교육지수와 한국 수출액 및 수입액 월간 시계열 자료에 관한 연구의 실증분석 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국 수입액과 교육지수 월간 시계열 자료의 수준변수에 대한 안정성 검정결과 1% 유의수준에서 대부분 불안정적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 한국 수출액 및 수입액과 교육지수 월간 시계열 자료의 제1차 차분변수에 안정성 검정결과는 1% 유의수준에서 모두 안정적임을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 교육지수와 수입액과의 상관관계는 –0.428355로 음(-)의 관계를 보여 주고 있고, 교육지수와 수출액과의 상관관계는 –0.564833로 음(-)의 관계를 보여 주고 있다. 이는 교육지수가 높을수록 수출과 수입이 감소함을 의미한다. 수입액과 수출액의 상관관계는 0.921115로 양(+)의 관계를 보여 주고 있다. 이는 수출이 증가하면 수입도 증가한다는 것을 의미한다. 상관관계에서 알 수 있는 것은 우리나라의 교육이 한국의 수출과 수입 모두에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소임을 의미한다. 넷째, 교육은 한국의 수출액 및 수입액 모두에 영향을 미치는 유의한 인과관계가 있고, 한국의 수출입에도 인과관계가 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 한국의 무역 및 경제성장을 촉진하기 위한 효과적인 교육 전략을 설계하는 측면에서 정책 당당자들에게 중요한 시사점을 줄 것으로 판단된다. 교육과 한국 수입액의 상호 미치는 영향에 관한 실증적 연구의 한계점으로는 교육과 한국 수입액에 관한 연구 자료가 제한적이라는 것이다. 향후 다양하고 충분한 교육에 관한 자료와 한국의 수출액과 수입액에 관한 자료가 제공되면 세밀한 연구가 계속되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mutual influence between education and Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import, using empirical data. The data used in this study include 214 education indices and monthly time-series data on Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import from June 30, 2005 to February 28, 2023. The study uses several methods, including unit root tests, cointegration tests, variance decomposition, impulse response analysis, correlation analysis, and Granger causality tests, to examine the causal relationship and mutual influence between education and Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import. The main findings of the study are as follows: Firstly, the first difference variables of Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import and monthly time-series data of the education index are found to be stable at the 1% significance level. Secondly, the correlation analysis shows that there is a negative correlation between education and the amount of import -0.428355 and the amount of export -0.564833, indicating that as the education index increases, both exports and imports decrease. Finally, the Granger causality tests indicate that education has a significant causal relationship affecting both Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import, and that it also has a causal relationship with Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import. These findings suggest that education is an important factor affecting Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import, and policymakers should consider this when designing effective education strategies to promote Korea's trade and economic growth. However, a limitation of the study is that the research data on education and Korea's the amount of export and the amount of import are limited, and further research with more detailed data is necessary in the future.
