모옌 장편 소설의 한역본(韓譯本) 오역 연구--『生死疲勞』,『蛙』,『十三步』를 중심으로

번역은 하나의 언어에서 다른 언어로 정보를 변환하는 과정이라고 말할 수가 있다. 가능한 정확하게 목표언어에서 등가를 찾아냄으로써 출발언어에 포함된 모든 사실적인 정보, 출발언어의 고유한 문법적이고 어휘적인 특징을 재생산하는 것이 번역의 목표이다. 이상적인 번역은 텍스트의 기능과 효과 측면에서 원전과 번역 텍스트가 등가를 이루는 것이지만, 실제 번역에 있어서 의미파악, 번역자의 수준, 문화차이 등으로 인해 번역 오류가 생기기 마련이다. 이에 본고에서는 중국에서 가장 주목받는 작가인 모옌(莫言)의 대표적인 장편소설 한역본을 중심으로 역본에서 나타나는 오류를 중심으로 분석하고자 한다. 논문에서 역문들의 오류 유형을 ‘부당한 번역 전략 사용’및 ‘의미 파악 부족’으로 크게 두 가지로 나누고 오류 원인을 밝히면서 수정된 역문도 같이 제시했다. 그리고 앞에서 분석한 오역 원인에 따라 개선방안을 제시해 보고자 한다. 이를 통해 더 좋은 중국 문학작품 역본이 나오는데 도움이 됐으면 한다.
Abstract
Translation involves a process of information transfer from one language to another. The goal of translation is to reproduce all the factual information contained in the Source Language and the unique stylistic features of the Source Language by finding the equivalence in the target language as accurately as possible. Ideally translated, the original and translated text are equivalent in terms of the function and effect of the text, but in actual translation, translation errors are likely to occur due to misunderstanding of the meaning, qualification of the translators, and cultural differences. Therefore, with Nida’ translation equivalence as theoretical underpinning, this paper will focus on the errors that appear in the Korean translations of novels by Mo Yan, one of the most well-known writers in China. In the paper, the types of errors in the translations are divided into two categories: “improper use of translation strategies” and “semantic misunderstanding”; revised translations are presented while identifying the causes for the error. And I would like to suggest better improvement measures according to the cause of the mistranslation analyzed, and I hope that better translation will come out through this. I hope this paper will offer some advice for the translation of Chinese literary works.
