이글은 행위자－연결망 이론을 통해 분단을 어떻게 새롭게 인식하고 재구성할 수 있는가를 고민하는 시론적 성격의 글이다. 그동안 분단에 관한 학술논의들은 주로 구조적이고 기능적인 차원에서 분단이 행하는 ‘능력’에 초점을 맞추고 있어 구체적으로 분단체제가 어디서부터 기원하고 시작되었으며, 시대사적으로 어떻게 변화되어 왔는가에 대한 역사적 변화 동학을 밝히지 못하고 있다. 행위자－연결망 이론은 그간 분단을 이념적·군사적·정치적 프레임 속에서 일상과 분리된 체제결정론 속에서 보는 시각에서 ‘전환’을 요구한다. 이 이론의 관점에서 보면, 우리를 둘러싼 사물, 과학, 물자체, 기술, 공간 등 비인간들이 분단과 무관한 것들이 아니라 분단을 구성하는 행위자들이며, 분단질서란 바로 이런 인간－비인간의 행위자－연결망 구축을 통해 움직이고 있다는 것이다. 우리를 둘러싼 많은 것들은 이미 블랙박스화되어 분단의 사회적 사실로 상식화되어 있는 있다. 이 블랙박스를 경험적 추적을 통해 열 때에만 분단은 새롭게 우리 일상 속에서 인식될 수 있는 것이다.
Abstract
This article introduces Actor-Network Theory which provides a meaningful contribution to the rethinking on the division of Korean Peninsula. In the meantime, academic discussion about the division of Korean Peninsula has focused mainly structural and functional dimension on the ability of the division. Specifically, in this discussions of the division system, the origins and historical changes in the division system did not pay attention. Also the division has been described ideological, military and political over the frame. Actor-network theory requires the conversion of this perspectives. From the standpoint of this theory, objects, science, technology and space, such as the inhumane things they are not independent of the division. They are actors that make up the division. The order of division are built into these human-nonhuman actors-network. Many things as black boxes is already common knowledge as social fact of division. When this black box is opened by the empirical trace, the division is a newly recognized.
