쿠마 켄고의 건축 사상으로 본 ‘자연스러운 건축’ 연구

Abstract

Kengo Kuma(1954~), a Japanese architect is one of the most important architect in this era that requires "natural architecture." He is an architect who defines natural architecture with his own philosophy and concept and he tries to modernly reinterpret the thought of Unity of Heaven and Human, the oriental view of nature which adapts nature, accommodates nature to the most and mixes with nature, not the conflict of nature and human. Based on his thought of architecture which is the denial of something fixed, modernization through reinterpretation of tradition, overcoming negative factors of architecture, organic meeting of nature and human, he gives shape to the way of being "natural architecture" as weak architecture, architecture of particles, architecture of connection and architecture of communication. The expression of weak architecture is the naturalization of space, gradual change and horizontal succession. The architecture of particles is expressed by making a crack, flexible structure and rich texture. The architecture of connection is continued spaces accommodating time, media of various incidents and extinction of border. And the expression of the architecture of communication is the space of lively daily life, expansion of different relationships and the transcendence of space and time. Likewise, "Natural Architecture," the architectural thought of Kengo Kuma, is the architecture that has the possibility of freely change, and it is an open architecture with unlimited possibility through flexible communication with various factors related to architecture.
