PBL과 디자인씽킹을 융합한 지역 문화기획 교육 프로그램 개발

Abstract

The key of sustainable city is various citizens’ democratic participation and cooperative governance. The recent domestic urban regeneration and cultural policy projects are being promoted and the interests in regional cultural planning and cultural urban regeneration are also growing. Accordingly each region is running a cultural planning educational program for citizens and making effort for fostering professional human resources. But the systematic method studies on such educational program still seems to be deficient. Based on such background, this study aims to propose a model combining PBL with Design Thinking Process(DTP) for developing educational program of regional cultural planning. As research methodology, this study inquires related policies and legislations, checks the imperativeness of study, and reviews theoretical background of and preceding research on PBL and design thinking. It combines two methods and designs the educational program model like LC-PBL and performs action research. It describes the educational program process conducted in a local constituency of Seoul in 2020, outcomes, and participant interviews and draws evaluation and analysis results. As a result of action research, the interests in and needs of‘practical learning for regional cultural planning’could be understood thanks to high participation. The key elements for PBL and design thinking were applied significantly by stages and the process of ideas developing in a systematic fashion could be identified. But it was analyzed that in the process of executing plan, expert facilitation or mentoring for increasing feasibility would have to be complemented. Through this program, multiple participants responded that perspective on a region or area had changed. So their own vision for cultural planning has been established and approach to and method of problem solving have been learned. Motivation through cooperation could be gained and additional outcomes by exerting application ability could be found. This study has an academic and practical significance in that it developed a new model combining PBL and design thinking for regional cultural planning educational program and executed and evaluated it.
