Abstract

As aging progresses rapidly, the senior population has established itself as an important consumer group. However, existing senior marketing strategies fail to sufficiently address their diverse needs and expectations, and do not effectively resolve the discrimination and discomfort they experience. This study proposes an alternative solution by introducing the Inclusive Universal Marketing Framework. The Inclusive Universal Marketing Framework refers to a marketing approach designed to allow all consumers—regardless of age, gender, disability, or economic background—to access and use products and services without discrimination. This framework aims to go beyond merely providing products and services tailored to specific consumer groups by creating an environment where all consumers, including seniors, can use a wide range of products and services equitably and participate actively in consumption without being marginalized. To achieve these goals, the framework proposes three core elements: Inclusivity, Accessibility, and Universal Design. Furthermore, this study suggests the applicability of the Inclusive Universal Marketing Framework in the process of developing marketing strategies. Specifically, it proposes segmenting senior consumers using diverse criteria beyond age, developing tailored targeting strategies for each segment, and proposing positioning strategies that reinforce a positive self-concept. The study also explores the practical application of the framework within the marketing mix (4Ps: Product, Price, Place, Promotion) and offers strategic directions for enhancing senior satisfaction through the planning of senior-friendly products and services, leveraging technological innovation in senior marketing, and combining corporate social responsibility with policy support. Through these efforts, companies can fulfill the diverse needs and expectations of senior consumers, strengthen brand loyalty, and enhance sustainable competitiveness in the global market.
