Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether Korean EFL learners can access to one of the UG principles, Binding theory. To prove the universal grammar accessibility in adult second language acquisition, I performed an experiment in this study. The result of this experiment shows that all subject groups gain more than 50 percents of scores in UG-related tests, which means UG is available to them. It is also found that the advanced group can reset the parameter to the English value. These findings suggest that parameter resetting actually occurs during the course of second language acquisition. Therefore this study concludes that adult second language learners are constrained by UG.
