In this paper, we claim that the meaning of a ending affix ‘-ci’ in Korean corresponds to that of Verum Focus in German. From the previous studies, it has been known that the affix ‘-ci’ represents that the speaker has already known that the proposition is true. That view is compatible with the typical interpretation about Verum Focus in German. We provide some evidence that argues for our view. Based on the evidences, we conclude that the affix ‘-ci’ is a kind of representation for Verum Focus. Furthermore, we present the interpretation of Verum Focus within the framework of TTR (Type Theory with Records). Our analysis is different from the previous works, in that the interpretation is based on the concept ‘Common Ground’ and that we show the concrete operation on the Common Ground.
