흄의 자연주의 인식론을 통해서 본 무용예술의 창조적 상상력

본 연구는 철학자 흄의 자연주의적 인식론을 바탕으로 무용예술의 창조적 상상력의 관계를 살펴보는 것이다. 상상력의 사전적 정의는 “마음속에서 눈에 보이지 않는 것의 영상을 만들거나 경험을 초월한 세계를 만드는 정신적 능력”이다. 이러한 상상력은 인문, 과학, 예술 등 모든 분야에 적용될 수 있는 정신작용으로 창조와 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다. 흄에 의하면 상상력의 발현은 인간의 정신능력에서 언제나 상상력이 필요할 때 자동적으로 작용하는 것이라고 하였다. 상상력은 감각처럼 수동적인 정신 능력이 아니라 자발적인 형태로 나타난다. 예술은 표현이며 인간감정에 관계되는 것이다. 안무가의 상상의 창조적 예술 활동은 누구나 가지고 있는 보편적인 경험으로 머무르는 것이 아닌 예술 속에서 중요한 역할을 수행할 수 있는 창조적 힘이 주어져 있는 인식의 창조적 산물이다. 이러한 예술적 상상력은 창조적 예술을 더욱 가치있게 만들어 주는 예술의 기본적 토대가 되어 주는 것이다. 상상력의 창조적 가치를 살펴보더라도 예술가가 작품을 만들 때 그의 영혼을 담아 만드는 행위나 자신만의 세계를 창조적 상상력으로 표현하는 무용예술 등도 그가 꿈꾸는 것을 상상력으로 채워 현실화시키는 것이라고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
This study examines the relation of creative imagination of dance art based on the naturalistic epistemology of philosopher Hume. The dictionary definition of imagination is "the mental capacity to make a vision of what is invisible in the mind, or to create a world beyond the experience". These imaginations are closely related to creation through mental actions that can be applied to all areas of humanities, science, and the arts. According to Hume, the manifestation of imagination is automatically activated when human imagination always requires imagination. Imagination is not a passive mental ability as sensation but a voluntary form. Art is expression and has to do with human emotion. Choreographer's imaginative creative arts activity is not a universal experience that everyone has but a creative product of cognition that is given the creative power to play an important role in art. This artistic imagination is the foundation of art that makes creative art more valuable. Even if you look at the creative value of imagination, you can say that the act of making an artist embracing his soul when making a work and the art of dancing expressing his or her own world with creative imagination is filled with imagination and realizes what he dreams.
