서부아프리카 코트디부아르공화국 야오부 마을의 전통적 샤머니즘 문화 상황에서의 선교전략

서부 아프리카 코트디부아르는 지난 10여 년 동안 정치적 분쟁으로 내전을 겪은 곳이다. 그러나 최근 들어 정치적·사회적으로 안정되면서 각 마을마다 교회개척 배가운동이 진행 중이다. 특히 코트디부아르 북서쪽은 기니공화국과 라이베리아와 국경을 접하고 있는 지역으로 이슬람교의 진출이 계속되는 상황에서도 기독교회의 교회개척이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그 가운데 코트디부아르 아비장에서 한 시간 반 거리에 위치한 야오부(Yaobou) 마을은 전통적으로 민속신앙이 매우 강한 곳이다. 이 마을의 문화전통은 샤먼과의 일체된 집합으로 획일화된 전통신앙에 얽매여 있다. 샤먼의 신적 권위와 정치적 영향력에도 불구하고 아비장 한인교회와 현지인 목사는 교회개척 사역을 위해 많은 시간을 들여 노력하였다. 야오부 마을에서 교회개척을 위한 상황화가 이루어지기 위해서 세계관, 인식과정, 언어형태, 행동패턴, 의사소통 도구, 사회구조, 동기부여 요소라는 다양한 영역에 대한 이해가 전제되었다. 그 결과 야오부 교회가 개척되었고 현재는 100여명이 모여 하나님을 찬양하는 마을이 되었다. 이곳에 교회가 개척되기 전까지 아비장한인교회와 현지인 목사는 타문화권에서 복음을 전달하려는 자와 피전달자 사이의 문화 간격을 연결하기 위해 문화적 가교에 관심을 갖고 끊임없는 샤먼의 세습세계와 그들의 문화를 이해하기 위해 노력했다. 또한 마을 주민들과 신뢰관계를 형성하였고, 도시교회와 시골 목회자와의 연합전선 구축을 통한 지역탐색, 이끌어주는 리더십을 통한 접근사역, 선교적 교회를 위한 사역과 삶의 모델을 통한 복음 선교를 시도한 결과 교회개척이 이루어졌다. 무엇보다 민속신앙이 강한 마을에서 복음전도 사역을 위해서는 지속적인 관심과 열정적인 기도가 최고의 도구이다. 하나님에 대한 절대적인 믿음과 성경의 권위, 메시지를 전달하는 방법과 대화가 중요한 방법이 된다. 야오부 마을 사람들의 샤머니즘 공동체에서 기독교로 개종하게 된 것은 목사의 삶을 유심히 지켜보고 그의 삶이 정직함을 인식하면서 가능했다는 것에 주목해야 한다. 결국 선교는 복음과 인간문화 사이의 관계성이 성립되도록 하는 것이다.
Abstract
Cote d'Ivoire in West Africa has been civil wars by political disputes in the past 10 years. However, church planting movement is in progress in each village since Cote d'Ivoire has become stable in political and social situations lately. Particularly, the church planting of Christian churches in the northwest of Cote d'Ivoire which shares borders with the Republic of Guinea and the Republic of Liberia is briskly proceeding in advances of Islam. Yaobou village which is an hour and half away from Abidjan of Cote d'Ivoire is intensely strong on folk religion traditionally. Cultural traditions of this village are united with Shaman and fettered by standardized tradition belief. Despite Shaman’s divine authority and political influence, Abidjan Korean Church and a local pastor tried to build a church with a lot of time. It was required to understand a broad spectrum of worldview, recognition process, language form, behavior patterns, communication tools, social structure, and motivational components to get over contextualization of church planting in Yaobou village. As a result, they built Yaobou Church and there are about 100 people who praise God in Yaobou village at present. Until Yaobou Church was built here, Abidjan Korean Church and the local pastor have tried to understand constant Shaman’s hereditary world and other cultures with interests in a cultural bridge to eliminate cultural gaps between communicators who preach the Gospel cross culturally and communicatees. They also formed trust relationship with Yaobou villagers, and then built Yaobou Church by searching the area with construction of a united front for urban churches and ministers of the country, by approaching them with leading relationship, and by trying missions with ministries and the model of life for missional church. Above all, continued interests and passionate prayer are the best way to do ministry for mission in a village which has powerful folk religion. The absolute faith in God, the authority of the Bible, the way for communication of the message, and conversation are also important ways. We have to notice that it was possible to convert from Shamanism community of Yaobou village to Christianity after they had closely observed the life of a ministry and realized his/her honest life. Eventually, mission is to build relationship between Gospel and human culture.
