신 교육목표분류학에 근거한 미국 국가교육향상평가 틀(NAEP, 2008)의 음악과 평가 진술에 관한 고찰

음악과 평가는 학생들이 음악을 어느 정도 수준으로 학습하였고 어떠한 내용을 이해하여 어느 정도 음악적 능력이 성숙하였는가를 측정하는 것이다. 음악적 능력을 측정하기 위해서는 고차원적인 사고능력을 필요로 하는 음악지식의 특성을 고려한 평가방법이 필요하다. 이 연구의 목적은 학생들이 음악을 학습하여 내면에 음악지식이 축적된 정도와 표출하여 나타나는 변화된 정도인 음악의 성취수준을 측정하기 위한 평가도구로서 음악과 평가지침과 성취기준의 진술방법을 체계화 하고자 함에 있다. 이 연구는 학습자의 내면에 음악지식이 축적된 정도를 측정하기 위한 평가도구로서 성취기준의 진술방법을 신 교육목표분류학에 근거하여 미국 국가교육향상평가(NAEP)의 음악과 평가지침과 성취기준진술방법을 고찰하였다. 이는 2011개정 음악교과 교육과정에서 기술하고 있는 성취기준 진술의 방향을 제언하는데 연구의 의의가 있다. 신 교육목표분류학에 근거하여 미국 국가교육향상평가를 고찰한 바, 실음중심의 진술, 통합적 진술, 성취기준의 기대효과 그리고 서술형의 구체화와 같은 특징을 알 수 있다. 또한 지식의 영역에서도 개념적 지식, 절차적 지식, 메타인지(초인지)지식 모두를 포괄하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이는 앞으로 성취기준의 진술이 지식의 모든 영역을 포괄하여 총체적인 기대효과를 진술 할 수 있어야 함을 시사한다.
Abstract
Evaluation in music education involves making judgments assessing levels learning, understanding of content, and maturity in musical ability. The evaluation process is a prelude to the acquisition of new knowledge, a new attempt at comprehension or a new analysis and synthesis. Thus, revision of new taxonomy is a focus on higher intelligent behaviour as is musical understanding, while considering dual aspects between cognitive process dimension and knowledge dimension. For this reason, revision of new taxonomical approaches is appropriate to evaluation in music education. This study has proposed to be used for the cognitive processing through verbs for higher intelligent behaviour in musical knowledge. To assess students' musical understanding, this research analyzed the music section of the NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) and compared it with the 2007 Korea National Curriculum. The results of this research suggest that, through verbs in the achievement level description, we can assess the total student's expectation for music. The system of description that processes through verbs will lead to higher achievement in the synthesis of statement.
