Homonymy is one of the most important contents in grammar teaching but a detailed study of how and what to teach on the homonymy is not abundant. This study aims to suggest alternatives of homonymy teaching in grammar education. For this purpose, this study reviewed critically the status of homonymy teaching in curricula and textbooks and found its associated problems. In conclusion, this study suggested alternatives as follows. First, the definition of homonymy is follows; the relation of words which are homophony and homography but has the distinct meaning. Second, this study presented three criteria to discriminate the meaning of homonymy. Finally this study explored subjects of inquiry - based learning.
