Abstract

This study examines Kim, Choon-Soo and Oh, Kyu-won's Poetics around the 'image' that especially can be called the core of their poetics. This study examines whether Kim, Choon-Soo and Oh, Kyu-won's poetics of image been formed through any of the course, considers to act as a key mechanism why the image is important in both poetics. Kim, Choon-Soo and Oh, Kyu-won had thought important for the images even before completing it the 'Non-sense Poetics' and 'Raw Image Poetics' in earnest. Kim, Choon-Soo showed a rejection of the impure images that imply meaning and concept, and Oh, Kyu-won had already developed a negative view of the idea as a metaphor and thought for the images of creation-coexistence. The interesting point is the fact that dealt with meaningless poetry and poetics of Kim, Choon-Soo in the writings of Oh, Kyu-won. In particular Oh, Kyu-won were also deployed a poetics thinking critically the functioning of narrative images that Kim, Choon-Soo claimed. They develop each of poetics in different directions while they react differently to the historical experience they've gone through. Kim, Choon-Soo deny the collective concept and focuses on the 'I' as existential personal, while Oh, Kyu-won shows the look to embody the 'I' in terms of 'we', the 'we' in terms of 'I'. When Kim, Choon-Soo and Oh, Kyu-won' Poetics of Image have to go beyond the contradiction and negativity of reality, a sense of the transcendent is written inside that. If the sense of the transcendent Kim, Choon-Soo is set in relation to IDEA(idea) and image(icon), transcendent sense of Oh, Kyu-won is set in the relationship between reality and fantasy(reality not registered). In addition, transcendent sense of two poetics is further deepened under the influence of Zen ideas in Buddhism. Kim, Choon-Soo takes its direction to the existential transcendence of the individual, while Oh, Kyu-won takes the direction of transcendental together with all beings.
