Abstract

This article aims to examine the composition principle of Kim Chun-su’s poetry as ‘feeling’ and to examine his poetic world centering on it. Here, ‘feeling’ can be said to be a kind of driving force through which the subject regenerates himself in relation to the other. A feeling is something that goes beyond a simple emotional dimension, and it can be said to be a concept that encompasses the subject's satisfaction and intention, past experiences, and future potential. Feeling is also not passive because it emerges from the other, but it can be said that it is a mental activity that carries out its own purpose and value judgment in relation to the other. Through feeling, the subject moves into a future direction while repeatedly creating a new existence. Feelings serve as an opportunity to re-read the ethics of Kim Chun-su's poetry. It contains an ethical attitude that pursues the pluralism of existence, free from the violence of reality and history, and an ethical consciousness of paradoxical self-transcendence that pursues eternity. In addition, Kim Chun-su aims for a community with a feeling that goes beyond the existing notion of community. Such a community is newly created through a sense of solidarity with beings who do not lose their beliefs and innocence in a place that has been deviated from violent reality and history.
