본 고는 한국과 일본의 현대소설에서 「명령」의 발화 내 행위적 효력을 나타내는 회화문을 채집하여 각각 어떤 언어형식이 있고 발화 장면에서 어떤 의미 내용을 나타내는지 의미론・화용론적 관점에서 분석함으로써 「명령」의 의미를 나타낼 경우의 사용조건을 고찰하고자 한다. 의미론적 관점은 언어형식이 가지는 의미를 나타내며 화용론적 관점은 발화 장면과 관련된 의미를 나타낸다. 이러한 분석을 통해「명령」의 표현에 보이는 한국어와일본어의 유사점과 상이점도 고찰해 보고자 한다. 명령으로 사용될 경우의 사용조건을 알아본 결과 상대방의 부담감을 최소화하기 위해 다양한 언어형식에 의한 간접적인 명령 표현이 사용되는 점을 알 수 있었다. 이것은 Grice의 대화의 격률(Cooperative Principle)과Leech의 정중의 원리(Politeness Principle)에 의해 설명될 수 있었고 한국어보다 일본어에서 「명령」의 의미를나타내는 언어형식이 다양하게 존재함을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
In this paper, conversational texts that show the action effect of “command” in utterances in Korean and Japanese modern novels are collected and analyzed from the semantic and pragmatic perspectives to determine what kind of language form each has and what meaning and content it represents in the utterance scene. I would like to consider the conditions of use when expressing meaning. The semantic point of view shows the meaning of a language form, and the pragmatic point of view shows the meaning related to the scene of speech. Through this analysis, the similarities and differences between the Korean and Japanese expressions of ‘command’ is also considered. As a result, the conditions of use when used as a command are investigated, and it has been found that indirect command expression using various language forms is used to minimize the burden on the other party. This could be explained by Grice's Cooperative Principle and Leech's Politeness Principle, and it has been found that there are various linguistic forms that express the meaning of ‘command’ in Japanese rather than Korean.
