초록

This contribution tries to demonstrate the benefits that can be obtained from building and using speech corpora in Foreign Language Education. I will try to show that well-designed corpora, built according to modern standards, can benefit instructors, students and researchers altogether. After outlining the advantages that corpus-based research and teaching can bring to higher education, as well as important guidelines regarding the creation of open, standard-based speech corpora, I provide an overview of two related corpora on native and non-native French phonology and briefly present pedagogical resources which have been developed from these research projects. The last part of this contribution introduces Dolmen, a computer program for the management and analysis of speech corpora.
