The purpose of this study is to prepare basic data for proverbs education for advanced Korean learners by analyzing the variation of proverbs used in newspaper articles. For this purpose, 16 educational proverbs were selected for analysis. And examples was extracted from the A corpus of articles from the National Institute of Korean Language and Naver News. As a result of analyzing the variation patterns of proverbs from a morphological perspective, it was confirmed that deformation according to context, word order deformation, replacement of components, addition, and omission were all common. Furthermore, by examining how meaning changes in these morphological variations, the changes were analyzed by dividing them into the same meaning, meaning denial, partial meaning, extended meaning, corresponding meaning, and loss of meaning. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes various morphological variations of proverbs targeting actual language data and categorizes the pattern of meaning change accordingly.
