Abstract

This paper understood the stories of filial piety from a new angle, based on which, did research on an educational plan. First, this paper checked the characteristic of the stories of filial piety. A difference between a story of filial piety and a daily life is that a story of filial piety is woven around unusual contents, so it's desirable for readers to accept the trials and miracles exposed in stories of filial piety as the contents distinct from one's real life. Second, as a result of examining the materials on stories of filial piety, they were roughly divided into three types of story groups, i.e. a story of a miracle's happening after withstanding trials; a story of feeling regret for filial impiety, or doing repentance, and a story of being converted to filial piety by using filial impiety. Among these stories, the story of filial piety showing the largest distribution is the first type. In view of such points, three problems were examined in the education of filial piety narratives. First, in selection of topics, there is the necessity of diverse types of filial piety narratives' having to be aggressively selected. The most printed first type of filial piety story has an aspect of making it difficult to accept a main character's filial affection comfortably due to the appearance of a young child as a main character on the whole. Second, there is the need to consider a story, in which the people, who repent their filial impiety, appear, or a story, in which parents arrange the condition for children to do filial piety. Next, a method of re-narrative of reconstituting a new topic by introducing the relationship between parents and child. For example, even in case of a filial piety story putting emphasis on sacrifices, it's preferable to broaden the width of deep impression while carefully reading out the concrete relationship between parents and children in a work rather than writing up a story in the form a discussion, or a subject of a composition away from the descriptive context. Lastly, it's necessary for education to arrange the strategy for broadening the width of empathy. Should the filial duty emphasized in filial piety stories be linked with other ethical virtues other than just remaining in a story, or be extended up to the respect for other senior citizens, the width of empathy will be much bigger.
