우리 나라에서 1990년대 이후에 쓰기 교육 연구의 큰 흐름은 쓰기의 과정에 대한 것이었다. 일련의 글쓰기 과정의 성격이나 지도 방법을 밝히는 연구가 주류였다. 처음에는 글쓰기 과정을 인지적 관점에서 접근했는데 점차 사회적 관점이 합세하는 형국이 었다. 이들 연구는 기본적으로 텍스트 자체보다는 그 글을 생산해 내는 필자 쪽에 관심을 두는 연구였다. 이들 연구는 우리 나라 쓰기 교육 현장을 개선하는 데 많은 역할을 했다. 하지만, 이 과정에서 텍스트 자체에 대한 연구가 소홀히 다루어지지 않았는지 돌아볼 필요가 있다. 그래서 이 연구에서는 텍스트 측면에서 쓰기 능력 발달에 대한 연구에 관심을 두었다. 그동안 쓰기 능력의 발달에 대한 연구가 어떻게 이루어져 왔는지를 살펴보고 앞으로 이들 연구가 지향해야 할 방향을 설정하는 데 목적을 두었다. 특히 입체적인 관점에서 학생들의 쓰기 능력 발달을 탐색할 필요가 있음을 강조했다. 글의 종류별, 글의 단위별, 글쓰기 능력의 요소별 등을 입체적으로 분석, 종합할 때 좀 더 온전하게 학생들의 쓰기 능력의 발달 문제를 이해할 수 있다.
Abstract
In our country, since the 1990s, the main trend in writing education research has been on the process of writing. The main research has been on the nature of the writing process or the teaching method. At first, the writing process was approached from a cognitive perspective, but gradually a social perspective was added. These studies were basically focused on the writer who produced the text rather than the text itself. These studies played a significant role in improving the writing education field in our country. However, it is necessary to look back and see if the research on the text itself was not neglected in this process. This study was interested in the text itself rather than the writer. Specifically, it is a question of how students’ text production ability develops. The purpose was to examine the research on the development of writing ability so far and to set the direction that these studies should pursue in the future. In particular, it was emphasized that it is necessary to explore the development of students’ writing ability from a three-dimensional perspective. When analyzing and synthesizing the types of writing, units of writing, and elements of writing ability in a three-dimensional manner, we can understand the development of students’ writing ability more completely.
