본 연구는 문학 중심 교과 통합 수업의 실천 가능성과 방향을 탐색하기 위하여 IB 관심학교 교사들을 대상으로 IB PYP 기반 교과 통합 탐구 단원 설계에서 문학 성취기준사용 양상을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 제주 J 초등학교의 교사 9인을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하고, 그중 1인을 대상으로 면담을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 교사들은 문학 성취기준을 특정 초학문적 주제를 중심으로 제한적으로 사용하거나, 예술 교과와 통합 단원을 설계할 때 사용하는 경향을 보였다. 또한, 문학 성취기준을 탐구 기능이 배재된 수행중심의 활동으로 구현하는 사례가 다수 확인되었다. 이상의 분석 결과를 바탕으로 다음과 같은 시사점을 얻을 수 있다. 첫째, 문학 지식및 개념을 활용하여 지식의 전이가 이루어질 수 있도록 문학 성취기준이 사용되어야한다. 둘째, 학습자의 삶에서 문학의 필요성과 문학 활동의 목적에 대한 탐색을 바탕으로 문학과 타 교과 통합 탐구 단원이 설계되어야 한다. 셋째, 학습자의 깊이 있는 학습이이루어지기 위해서는 탐구 기능이 포함된 문학 활동의 제시가 요구된다. 넷째, 교사들의수업 부담을 줄이기 위해 초학문적 주제와 관련된 다양한 문학작품 목록 및 교과 통합탐구 단원 설계에 관한 실제적인 지원 방안이 마련되어야 한다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the application of literature achievement standards in the design of IB PYP-based curriculum inquiry units for teachers at schools preparing for IB certification, and to obtain implications for research on literature-centered integrated curriculum instruction. Based on the above analysis, the following implications can be drawn: Literature achievement standards should be used to facilitate knowledge transfer through the use of literary knowledge and concepts. Furthermore, integrated literature and cross-curricular inquiry units should be designed based on an exploration of why literature is necessary in learners’ lives and the purpose of literary activities. Furthermore, to foster in-depth learning, literature activities that incorporate inquiry functions should be presented. Furthermore, to reduce teachers’ teaching burden, practical support is needed for designing integrated literature units and a diverse list of literary works related to transdisciplinary topics.
