6.25전쟁 정전협정은 1953년 7월 27일 체결되었다. 회담을 개시한 1951년 7월 10일로부터 무려 747일이 지난 뒤였다. 이 회담은 역대 정전회담 중 가장 긴 회담일정으로 기록된 바 있다. 양측은 전쟁발발 직후부터 휴전을 생각했다. 하지만 본격적인 움직임은 중공군이 개입한 이후부터 나타났다. 전쟁의 양상이 유엔군과 중국의 전쟁으로 확전되어 제3차 세계대전을 우려하면서부터였다. 지금까지 국내외적으로 휴전회담과 관련된 가장 정확하고 공식적인 문서는 휴전회담회의록이다. 이번에 발굴한 군무회의임시사무국 휴전회담일지는 휴전회담회의록과 같은 시기에 만들어진 것이다. 휴전회담일지의 내용은 매우 충실하게 작성되어 있다. 그리고 그곳에 등장하는 인물들이 당시 중요한 결정을 내렸던 사람들로 구성되어 있다. 이런 이유로 이것은 중요한 사료임에 틀림없다. 이번 연구의 목적은 휴전회담일지의 내용을 휴전회담회의록 내용과 교차해서 분석하는 것이며, 이를 통해 군무회의 임시사무국에서 발행한 휴전회담일지의 사료적 가치를 찾아내는 것이다.
Abstract
The Armistice Agreement of the Korean War was signed on July 27, 1953. It was a whopping 747 days after the talks began on July 10, 1951. The talks marked the longest meeting schedule of any cease-fire meeting of all time. Both sides had contemplated a cease-fire shortly after the outbreak of war. However, a full-fledged move has emerged since the intervention of the CCP. This move came about out of concern for World WarⅢ. The most accurate and official document related to the armistice talks is the minutes of the cease-fire talks. The logbook of the Armistice Talks of the Provisional Secretariat of the Military Affairs Meeting, which was unearthed this time, was created at the same time as the minutes of the Armistice Talks. The contents of the logbook of the Armistice Talks are very faithfully written. And the characters there are made up of people who made important decisions at the time. For this reason, this must be an important historical records. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of the logbook of the Armistice Talks in intersection with the contents of the minutes of the armistice talks, and through this, to find the historical records value of the logbook of the Armistice Talks issued by the Provisional Secretariat of the Military Affairs Meeting.
