『士民必知』한문본에 나타나는 한역(漢譯) 표기에 관한 연구

본 연구는 19세기 근대 한역어의 성립과 형성 과정을 밝히기 위한 연구의 일환으로 『士民必知』한문본에 나타나는 한역 표기와『ᄉᆞ민필지』한글본을 비교 분석한 것이다. 『士民必知』한문본에 출현하는 한역 표기는 서양 현지음에 대한 헐버트의 한글 표기를 역으로 한자어로 번역하는 과정을 거친 것이기 때문에 이를 통해 한국의 지식인들이 한자어를 조합하여 번역어를 만들어 내는 데 있어 어떠한 방법을 적용하고자 하였는지 근대 계몽기 근대적인 한자 번역어의 실태를 고찰하고 19세기 이후 한역 표기의 문제를 해명하고자 하였다.
Abstract
This study, as a part of the research to clarify the establishment and formation of modern translation version in Chinese in the 19th century, is a comparative analysis of Chinese translation notation appearing in the Chinese character version and the Korean character version of “Saminpilji”. In the Analysis of Chinese character translation words made during translation into Chinese character version from the Korean character version of “Saminpilji”, in English notation, it was marked as the Korean characters, and in the process of being translated into Chinese words, in a point that it is possible to understand the notation method reinterpreted by Koreans, in terms of how Korean intellectuals at the time of flowering tried to apply the translation vocabulary, it was possible to examine the establishment and formation process of Chinese translation words of modern Enlightenment period. As a result, the study of the translation notations of Chinese characters appearing in “Saminpilji”, has a significant implication in that it shows the process of gradually transitioning from the method of accepting Chinese system notation to the method of devising Korea's own notation.
