한국사회의 사회운동과 정치엘리트: 역대국회의원들(제헌국회-18대국회)중 사회운동참여 경험자를 중심으로

이 연구는 우리 사회의 사회운동의 주도세력의 변화, 사회운동 활동가들의 국회 진출은 우리 시회의 정치체제의 변화와 밀접하게 연결되어 있다고 보고 우리사회의 사회운동의 변화 과정과 정치체제에 따른 정치적 기회구조의 변화를 통해 이들 간의 관계유형을 밝히려는 시도이다. 사회변동을 지향하면서 체제에 저항했던 다양한 사회운동 주도세력들이 비제도권 재야 정치엘리트에서 제도정치로 진입하는 과정에는 국회진출이 주된 통로로서 작용한다. 따라서 제헌국회에서 현18대국회까지 진출한 역대국회의원들 중 사회운동 경험이 있는 의원들의 출신배경과 경력을 분석하였다. 사회운동세력으로서의 비제도권 정치엘리트의 국회진출은 사회운동의 발생 및 성장과 마찬가지로 정치적 기회구조의 영향을 받고 있다는 사실이 확인되었다. 이 연구는 사회운동세력으로서 비제도권 정치엘리트의 제도정치 진입을 개별적이고 개인적인 차원에서 논의하는 한계는 있지만 사회운동의 정치세력화의 한 측면을 밝혔다는 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study examines changes in patterns of social movements, dominant social movement groups, and incorporation of individual social movements activists into formal political arena in relation to political opportunity structure. Data about members who was once movement activists of Korean National Assembly from 1st to 18th national assembly are analyzed. As results, the fact that incorporation of individual social movement activists with various social backgrounds as political elites into members of national assembly is also affected by changing political opportunity structure is ascertain in this study.
