‘남도민속학’의 형성과 기반 조성 - ‘지춘상’ 교수의 역할을 중심으로 -

Abstract

Words referring to the ‘Jeolla-do’ area include ‘Honam’ and ‘Namdo’. The word ‘Honam’ has a geographical meaning. The person who played a pivotal role in the formation and development of the folklore of Namdo was Dongeun ‘Ji, Chun-sang(October 09, 1932 to May 29, 2009)’. Born in Hampyeong, Jeollanam-do, Ji Chun-sang made great achievements in Namdo folklore research by discovering Namdo folk materials and winning academic awards while serving as a professor at Chonnam National University. Ji, Chun-sang tried to make the general public feel proud of our folklore through the discovery of folk materials. Accordingly, various folk materials of Namdo, such as “Gossaum Nori(Loop Fight)” and “Ganggangsullae”, were discovered and promoted. In addition, it was emphasized that the name ‘Namdo’ is a word with cultural characteristics. In this context, the cultural characteristics of the Namdo region were ‘yesulseong(artistry)’, ‘punglyuseong(elegant life)’, ‘meot(flavor)’, and ‘seominseong(folkishness)’. He also trained colleagues to share Namdo folklore research. The students produced by Professor Ji Chun-sang work at major universities in Gwangju-Jeonnam area. He is a reliable supporter of Namdo folklore research. He has also established himself as a fellow researcher. In addition, A research society is also organized to expand the horizon of Namdo folklore research. Based on this organization, academic systematization was attempted by expanding the scope of research and diversifying research fields. Ji Chun-sang trained researchers to share Namdo folklore research. Ji Chun-sang's students work at major universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam. They are reliable supporters of Namdo folklore research. They have also established themselves as fellow researchers of Ji Chun-sang. In addition, a research society is organized to expand the horizon of Namdo folklore research. Based on this organization, academic systematization was attempted by expanding the scope of research and diversifying research fields. The disciples influenced by Ji Chun-sang are drawing unique research results in their own fields. In addition, many researchers are contributing to Namdo folk research with their research capabilities. today, there are people who have the will of Professor Ji Chun-sang at the folk site.
