그리스의 위기는 경상 수지 적자가 지속되고 외채 비율이 높은 재정 위기일 뿐아니라, 높은 실업률과 고도 인플레이션 및 낮은 경제 성장률이라는 총체적 사회경제적 위기다. 이 위기는 지구적 세계화에 대한 유럽의 작은 세계화 혹은 블록 세계화의 일환으로서 유로존 체계가 가진 구조적 요인과 왜곡된 국내 정치 체제의모순 및 정부의 정책 실패가 복합적으로 작용한 결과이다. 그리고 그 내부적 요인의책임은 ND 정부와 PASOK 정부에 모두 있다. 그에 따라 그리스인들은 점차 기성정치와 양대 정당에 환멸을 느끼고 급진 좌파적 대안에 기대를 걸게 되었다. SYRIZA는 이러한 상황에서 급부상해 그리스 정치의 변화와 진보 진영을 주도하고있다. 그러나 집권에 필요한 지지율을 획득하지는 못했으며 당내 다양한 정파들을조정해나가야 하는 난제를 안고 있다. 그리스 국민들의 진보 좌파에 대한 기대 실험은 강한 경로 의존적 성격을 띨 것으로 보이며, 그렇기 때문에 SYRIZA의 적극적인노력이 오히려 더욱 중요한 요소로 부각되기도 한다.
Abstract
Greece’s crisis is not only financial, involving unsustainable current account deficit and a high foreign debt ratio, but also socio-economic, characterized by high unemployment and inflation and low economic growth. The crisis resulted from the structural characteristics of Eurozone as a part of a regionalization or “block-globalization” against the globalization, the contradiction of the Greek political system and the failure of Greek governmental crisis management. Both the ND and the PASOK are responsible for domestic factors of the crisis. Accordingly, Greeks became disillusioned with the two biggest political parties and moved their allegiances to the radical left alternative: SYRIZA, which is leading progressive politics in Greece. However, SYRIZA has not obtained the necessary voter approval ratings to come to power and has a difficult task to reconcile the conflicts between its various internal factions. The expectation experiment of Greeks the progressive left seems to be remarkably pathdependent, and therefore an active effort of the SYRIZA emerged as a more important factor for its success.
