이명박 민영화 정책의 전망, 노동자 투쟁 그리고 좌파적 대안

Abstract

Although retreating a little from the avowed promise of the early days, Lee government will drive the privatization policy. As privatization drive is the heart of the private sector restructuring, this issue is crucial to the Lee government and capitalist class. But the blowback is formidable. Now anti-privatization struggle is prepared here and there. In Korea anti-privatization struggle culminated in Power workers victory in 2002. As anti-privatization struggle was the part of the candlelight vigil which shaked the society a few months ago, it may be revive with the change of political atmosphere. After all privatization policy is essential to the Lee government policy, Lee government’s offensive and workers’ reaction is not avoidable in the short-term. Workers’ solidarity and strike is the most effective weapon to check the Lee government’s privatization policy. With the struggle ahead, trade unions, civil societies, progressive parties have to form the united front with priority given to the action program condensed from common demand. If organised, powerful public sector workers’ struggle is able to check the Lee government’s privatization policy.
