대안세계화운동의 맥락에서 본 자율주의운동 연구

1999년 이후 등장한 반자본주의운동에서 자율주의 세력들이 주요한 역할을 했다. 자율주의운동의 부상 배경에는 공산당이나 사민당 등 기성 좌파 조직들의 개혁주의정치와 관료주의 태도에 대한 반감과 아래로부터의 대중적 저항이 있었다. 자율주의는 자본주의체제와 이를 옹호하는 정치집단에 대해 비타협적인 태도를 보인다. 자율주의 경향은 신자유주의 세계화 반대 운동에 역동성과 생동감을 불어넣는기여를 했지만 국가권력에 대한 기권적 태도, 대중의식의 불균등성에 대한 인식 부족 그리고 조직의 필요성에 대한 간과 등의 약점도 함께 지니고 있다. 유럽 및 남미 등지에서 정치적 의제가 중요하게 부상하면서 자율주의운동의 영향력이 2000년대 초반에 비해 크게 줄어들었다. 하지만 세계 경제위기라는 맥락하에서 자본주의체제에 대항하는 저항 운동들이 등장할 경우 자율주의운동은 다시 부상 할 수 있다. 이 글은 신자유주의 세계화운동에서 주요한 세력으로 부상한 자율주의운동들의 특징을 살펴본다.
Abstract
Autonomist trends had played the central role in the movement of anti-capitalism since 1999. Autonomist movement had emerged in the context of the reformist politics and bureaucratic attitude of the Communist or the Social Democrats and mass protest from below. Autonomist trends have an uncompromising attitude to the capitalist regime and its defenders. Autonomist trends inspired vividness and dynamics to the movement of anti-capitalism, but had several weakness as follows; abstentionism to the state power, misunderstanding to the unevenness of the mass consciousness and failure to notice of organization etc. In Europe and Latin America, as political issues emerge, the influence of autonomist movements grow smaller than early 2000s. But in the circumstances of the world economic crisis autonomist movement can revive the emerging protest against the capitalist regime. This article reviews the autonomist movement emerged as major force in the movement of the anti-neoliberalism and appraises the merits and weakness of the autonomist movement.
