유무선 통합망의 서비스 특징을 보면 하나의 통합 단말이 통합망 내부의 유무선 이질 접속망에 관계없이 매끄럽게로밍을 하며 서비스를 지원받을 수 있는 구조를 말한다. 이러한 통합망의 서비스 성공 여부는 서비스품질(QoS)의 지원이 필수적이라 할수 있다. 단 통합망의 특성에 따라 QoS 적용을 달리해야하는 이질망의 특성을 고려해야하고 이들간의 로밍 역시 고려해야한다. 본 논문은 이러한 관점에서 통합 이질망에서 적용이 가능한 QoS 기술 동향을 기술한다. 즉, 통합망에서의 이동성 제공 측면과 QoS 차별 지원이라는 측면에서 기술 동향을 기술하도록 하며 마지막으로 유무선 통합망에서 QoS 적용이 가능한 프레임워크를 제시한다.
Abstract
Among the service characteristics of a converged networks between the wired and wireless services, it is necessary that a single converged handset get seamless service while roaming regardless of the type of the attached network. The success of such a converged network service is heavily dependent on the quality of service. However, we must take account of the characteristics of heterogeneous networks in which QoS has to be applied differently according to the type of the network and the roaming between heterogeneous network. This paper describes QoS technology that can be applicable to a converged network in such views. We describe mobility support and classified applications in QoS support in detail. In the end, we propose a QoS applicable framework for a converged network.
