Abstract
In this paper, we will study the state-of-the art in end-to-end QoS provisioning technologies and resource management scheme with respect to supporting media streaming in real-time. The paper describes the QoS-related research issues in Internet, wireless networks, ATM, system, middleware, storage servers and file server systems, applications, and user layers. The paper also briefly explores the challenges faced in integrating QoS issues of current Internet into the next-generation wireless mobile and ubiquitous networking framework.
