Abstract

This study aims to explore tasks for activating operation of rented facilities for the academic credit bank system of a university lifelong education center by analyzing the case of University C, which is connected with County S. Based on the literature review and interviews, this study proceeds as follows. First, the study discusses the meaning of operating rented facilities for the academic credit bank system of a university lifelong education center at both the beneficiary and provider levels. Second, this study analyzes characteristics, outcomes, and limitations of the case of University C. And finally, based on the case of University C, this study suggests tasks for activating operation of rented facilities for the academic credit bank system of a university lifelong education center. As the tasks for activating operation of rented facilities for the academic credit bank system of a university lifelong education center, this study suggests that the government has to guarantee universities the flexibility to adapt standard curriculum, remove the limit of credits that students can get from one institution, and permit education in rented buildings in the process of connecting with rural districts. Moreover, universities need accountability in quality management of education, and local governments have to financially support the management of education and help pay the education expenses of adults in the neighboring areas. Finally, this study suggests that further study is needed about improving the processes of learners and the community, and about relationships among factors that influence the successful operation of rented facilities for academic credit bank systems.
