지역간 학업성취도 격차 원인 분석：지역 효과와 학생이동의 영향 탐색

지역간 학업성취도 격차의 원인을 분석하기 위하여 목포시와 인근 군 지역 중고등학교 학생 800 여 명의 학업성취도, 부모의 학력, 직업 자료를 수집하였다. 중고등학교 모두 목포시와 인근 군 지역간의 학업성취도 격차가 유의미하게 나타났다. 가정배경을 통제 한 이후의 학업성취도를 분석한 결과, 중학교의 학업성취도는 지역간 격차를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 고등학교의 학업성취도는 지역의 영향력을 매우 크게 받고 있었다. 지역간 격차가 고등학교 단계에서만 나타나는 것은 고등학교 단계에서의 지역간 교육 환경의 차이이거나 군 지역의 학업성취도가 우수한 중학생이 고등학교를 시 지역으로 진학하였기 때문이라고 볼 수 있다. 분석 결과, 지역간 학업성취도의 격차에는 두 요인 모두 영향을 미치고 있었다. 즉, 지역간 교육 환경의 차이와 군 지역의 우수한 학생의 진학이동이 지역간 학업성취도의 격차에 영향을 끼치고 있었다.
Abstract
To analyze factors of different degrees of school achievement in areas of nonｰequalized high schools, this study sampled the school achievements of 800 middle and high school students, parents' education and occupations in and near Mokｰpo areas. The degree of schooling achievement is testified to be significantly different in interｰareas. As the factor of family background is controlled, the degree of school achievement showed to be modestly significant in middle school in interｰareas, while high school students showed significantly effected in interｰareas. This result can be explained into two reasons. One is due to the difference of effectiveness of high school in interｰareas. The other reason is because of the excellency of middle school students' migration to the high level high schools. According to this result, the discrepancy of school achievement in interｰareas was testified to be effected by two factors. One is the different effectiveness of schools or educational environment, the other reason is caused by the migration to enter higher grade school in city.
