Abstract

This study was conducted to present the direction and future tasks of self-management intervention research for students with autism by analyzing the trend of domestic and international research. A total of 19 articles published between 2014 and 2023 were selected to analyze research trends and characteristics of interventions. As a result of the study, first, the participants were mainly a small number of elementary students, and many were with intellectual disabilities. Second, the research design was all single-subject design, and many did not measured generalization. Third, the setting was mainly school environment. Fourth, the dependent variables were mainly academic-related. According to analysis of intervention characteristics, most of the interventions used self-monitoring as sole sub-element of self-management, and used electronic devices. The contents mainly included training the discrimination of target behaviors and self-recording. The analysis of the Percentage of Non-Overlapping Data(PND) for the interventions indicated a generally high level of effectiveness. Based on the research results, the implication for the direction of future studies were discussed.
