한⋅중 학술 논문에 나타난 ‘필자지칭표현’의 사용 양상 연구 -언어학 분야의 학술 논문을 대상으로-

학술 논문의 저자는 연구 결과의 신뢰도를 높이기 위해 학술 텍스트 속에서 필자지칭표현을 통해 자신의 존재를 드러낸다. 그러나 서로 다른 학술 전통을 가진 한․중 학술공동체는 필자지칭표현을 사용하는 데에 차이점이 존재한다. 본 연구는 언어학을 예로 하여 한․중 두 나라의 학자들이 필자지칭표현을 사용함에 있어 어떤 공통점과 차이점이 존재하는지를 살펴보았다. 이러한 작업은 학문 목적의 한․중 외국인 학습자들에게 매우 유용한 정보가 될 수 있을 것이다. 언어학 분야의 한국어와 중국어 학술 논문에서 공통적으로 사용된 필자지칭표현은 1인칭 복수대명사와 ‘본 연구’, ‘本文(본문)’같은 대상 위주의 '연구물'류 표현이다. 하지만 한국어 논문에서는 ‘연구물’류는 인칭대명사류보다 월등히 많이 사용된 반면, 중국어 논문에서는 두 가지 필자지칭표현이 골고루 사용되었다. 또한 두 나라의 언어학자들이 ‘연구물’류 표현을 사용하는 것에 있어서는 매우 유사하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 모두 이런 표현을 통해 자신과 텍스트를 분리시켜 연구의 객관성을 높이는 경향성을 지닌다. 1인칭 복수대명사의 사용에 있어서는 차이점이 보이는데, 한국 학자들은 주로 독자와의 거리를 좁히기 위해 '우리'를 사용하고, 중국 학자들은 주로 ‘我们(우리)’를 통해 전문가로서의 신분을 드러낸다. 종합적으로 볼 때, 언어학 분야의 한국 학자들이 중국 학자에 비해 자신을 논문에서 드러내는 것을 회피하는 경향이 강하고, 자신의 논증이나 관점을 최대한 객관적으로 서술하는 경향이 있음을 확인할 수 있다.
Abstract
Based on a self-built corpus, this study explores the construction of self-mentions in Korean and Chinese research articles. Finding shows that in Korean articles, non-personal terms were used far more than first personal plural pronoun, while in Chinese articles, two expressions of self-mentions were evenly used. Korean scholars mainly use "우리”to narrow the distance from readers, and Chinese scholars mainly reveal their status as experts through "我们". But they all tend to increase the objectivity of research by separating themselves from texts through non-personal terms.
