한-중 동시통역 교육을 위한 섀도잉 학습법의 활용 방안 사례 연구

초록

본 연구는 중국인 한국어 통역 전공 학습자들을 대상으로 한-중 동시통역 교육에서 섀도잉 학습법의 활용 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 중국 MTI 한국어 동시통역 수업의 운영 사례를 통하여 섀도잉 학습법이 기존 동시통역 수업에 어떻게 활용되고 있는지를 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 학습자 만족도 조사를 시행하여 섀도잉 학습법의 활용 양상에 나타난 네 가지 문제점을 도출하였다. 첫째, 학습자가 섀도잉 연습의 기본적인 방식과 훈련 목표 등의 내용에 대해 잘 이해하지 못하였다. 둘째, 학습자가 섀도잉 연습과 동시통역 간의 연관성을 느끼지 못하였다. 셋째, 수업 단계와 수업 후 단계의 섀도잉 연습 시간은 부족하였다. 넷째, 학습자가 기존의 섀도잉 연습 방식에 대해 어려움을 느꼈다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해 플립러닝 방식을 도입하고 ‘음소 섀도잉’, ‘구절 섀도잉’, ‘선택적 섀도잉’ 등의 섀도잉 방법을 취하며 수업 후의 섀도잉 과제를 부여하는 등 섀도잉 학습법을 활용한 한-중 동시통역 수업의 개선방안 및 수업 모형을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study examines the use of shadowing techniques in Korean-Chinese simultaneous interpretation education for Chinese Korean language learners. Through an analysis of the operation of Korean MTI (Master of Translation and Interpretation) simultaneous interpretation classes in China, we identified four issues related to the utilization of shadowing techniques, as well as the results of a survey on student satisfaction. First, students were not familiar with the basic method and training objectives of shadowing practice. Second, students did not perceive the relationship between shadowing practice and simultaneous interpretation. Third, there was insufficient time for shadowing practice in both the classroom and after class. Fourth, students experienced difficulties with existing shadowing practice methods. To address these issues, this study introduces a flipped learning approach and proposes improvements and a teaching model for Korean-Chinese simultaneous interpretation classes that incorporate various shadowing techniques such as ‘phoneme shadowing’, ‘phrase shadowing’, and ‘selective shadowing’.
