Abstract
Beginning of the 21st century, actuality of the Anthropocene issues, which Climate change and Covid-19 Pandemic represents, urges public awareness of and action change. Despite of already presented facts of these issues, however, they seem to not yet respond sufficiently. New materialism and approaches to public psychology of environmental issues suggest new insight of environmental narratives that Environmental Humanities should focus on in the Anthropocene. First, new materialist perspectives can demonstrate trans-disciplinary approach to the Anthropocene issues and implications of them in the level of public understanding. Next, psychological approaches to environmental problems can bridge the gaps between knowing and acting of the public. If this study finds features of environmental narratives in the Anthropocene in Toby’s storytelling style in Margaret Atwood MaddAddam, it can contribute to raising public awareness and facilitating engagement in the level of people’s real life.
