청소년의 학교후원적 문식 활동과 자기후원적 문식 활동 간 관계 연구

초록

이 연구는 다중 문식활동(multiple literacies)을 수행하는 문식자로서 청소년이 학교 안팎의 쓰기 활동을 어떻게 관계 짓고 엮어가고 있는지, 이를 통해 어떤 필자로 성장하고 있는지에 대해 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이에 따라 청소년의 관점에서 이들의 쓰기 경험을 수집하고 이를 언어 네트워크 분석을 통해 구조화한 뒤, 분석 결과를 문식성 후원의 관점에 기반하여 해석하였다. 연구 결과, 본 연구에 참여한 청소년들은 1) 학교 주도의 조직적 쓰기 활동, 2) 학교-자기 간 상호교호적 쓰기 활동, 3) 자기통합적 쓰기 활동을 수행하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 청소년의 쓰기 경험에서 ‘학교’가 구심점으로 작용하고 있으며 이것이 쓰기 활동을 범주화하는 기준이 되고 있다는 점에서 특징적이다. 이 연구는 청소년의 쓰기 활동을 학교 안/밖의 선험적, 이분법적 접근이 아닌 맥락적이고 관계적인 차원에서 이해하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 또한 청소년의 쓰기 활동이 독립적으로 존재하는 것이 아니라 서로 간에 관계를 형성하고 상호 발전해가고 있음을 구체적으로 드러냈다. 이 과정에서 학교가 문식성 후원자로서 중요한 역할을 수행하고 있음을 밝혔다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore how adolescents, as a literate of multiple literacies, relate to and weave their writing activities inside and outside of school, and how they grow into writers through this. Accordingly, writing experiences were collected from the perspective of adolescents, structured through language network analysis. The results were interpreted based on the perspective of literacy support. The results showed that the adolescents participating in this study took part in 1) school-led organizational writing activity, 2) school-self-interactive writing activity, and 3) self-integrated writing activity. Therefore, the study shows that the ‘school’ is a pivotal point in the writing experience of adolescents and thus, serves as the standard for categorizing writing activities. The study is meaningful as it shows the writing activities of adolescents through a contextual and relational view. In addition, it is significant as it reveals that the various types of writing activities that the adolescents participated in do not exist independently but form a relationship and develop with each other. The study also indicated that the school plays an important role as a supporter of literacy in this process.
