초록
Athtartu is a West-Semitic goddess often identified with Sumerian Inanna and Akkadian Ishtar. She was very much favored as a goddess of love and war in the Late Broze and Iron age Levant and Egypt. But things were different in Ugarit, where Anatu replaces Athtartu in the role of goddess of love and war. Athtartu rarely features in Ugaritic mythological texts, not to mention that the goddess is never considered as a goddess of war. The purpose of this article is to understand the reason why Athtartu had to give up her status as a goddess of love and war to Anatu in Ugarit by examining KTU 1.92, the only Ugaritic mythological text, that stars Athtartu.
