Abstract

This study analyzed important factors and items related to forest healing activation using the Delphi survey. For this purpose, a group of 39 forest therapy experts was formed and a Delphi survey was conducted and analyzed using SPSS 19.0. Through a brainstorming process, the Delphi survey selected five factors, including forest therapy program development and implementation, forest therapy facilities, forest therapy professionals, forest therapy consumers, and forest therapy systems and policies, as factors for activating forest therapy, which is a high-level concept. As sub-concepts for each factor, 855 items were presented through the first open-ended survey, and similar items were grouped to derive 59 items. As a result of a second survey of 59 items on a closed Likert-5 scale, 19 items evaluated as unimportant were removed and 40 questions were derived. Through the third survey, 24 questions were selected as important items. As a result of this analysis, the importance of forest therapy activation factors was found to be in the order of forest therapy professionals, development and implementation of programs, consideration of the consumer side, forest therapy facilities, and systems and policies. Subcategories include the expertise and communication skills of forest therapy guide, differentiated programs for each forest therapy target and purpose, forest therapy using urban forests within the living area, creation of specialized forests for each factor such as healing forests, and related organizations such as public health centers. Cooperation system support was analyzed as an important factor in revitalizing forest therapy.
