Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the scope of major topics in the future direction of creating healing forest facilities so that we can actively respond to the growing demand for forest healing. In this study, the thematic analysis method of qualitative research was used targeting field experts who operate forest healing programs and manage facilities to explore the direction of development based on experience in operating and managing national healing forest facilities. For this purpose, focus group interviews were conducted with field experts in the National Healing Forest divided into regions. Summarizing the opinions of field experts, the core category that is important in terms of operation and management of healing forest facilities based on measures to improve field difficulties is ‘Creating facilities that can be used efficiently’. The detailed categories could be summarized into six : 1) Enhancing the diversity of facilities that can operate various programs, 2) The circularity of the healing forest path that can provide a change in perspective, 3) The connectivity of facility layout for program courses that enable linked activities, 4) Setting a spatial scope in terms of safety considering the characteristics of program operation, 5) Creation of facilities considering convenience of use and access and ease of management, 6) Development of various spatial planning techniques and design that can increase autonomous use of facilities. In the future, the results of this study can be used to supplement the standards for creating healing forest facilities and for spatial planning.
