텍스트언어학의 혁신과 도약을 위한 ‘인문 텍스트언어학’

이 연구는 텍스트언어학의 현황과 한계를 진단하고 이를 극복할 수 있는 방안의 제시를 목적으로 한다. 지금까지 텍스트언어학 연구는 텍스트의 구성요소와 구조 등을 명증하게 밝혀내지 못하였고 텍스트를 분석하고 이해하기 위한 체계적인 범주 설정 등과 같은 텍스트언어학 연구의 근본적인 목적에 부응하는 연구 결과를 제시하지 못하고 있다. 이런 문제를 해소하기 위해서는 텍스트언어학은 실제 텍스트의 분석을 토대로 다양한 텍스트 유형의 언어 형태와 내용 및 의사소통적 기능의 구조를 밝혀내야 하고 텍스트의 분석과 해석을 위한 체계적인 범주를 제시해야 한다. 또한 텍스트언어학 연구가 오로지 텍스트를 구성하는 언어 내재적인 관점에서 이루어지고 있고, 인간의 삶과 사회적 현상에서 유리된 상태에서 텍스트가 사용되는 사회적 맥락과 의미를 밝혀내는 데 소홀히 한 것도 지금까지 텍스트언어학의 한계로 지적되고 있다. 이러한 텍스트언어학의 한계를 극복하고 새로운 도약을 하기 위한 방안의 하나로 이 연구는 ‘인문 텍스트언어학’을 텍스트언어학 연구의 한 분야로 도입할 것을 제안한다. ‘인문 텍스트언어학’이란 텍스트를 통해서 표현되고 소통되는 인간의 정신과 삶 그리고 사회적 현상과 문제를 발견하고 문제해결의 토대를 제시 또는 제안하기 위한 텍스트의 사용 의미에 대한 연구를 말한다.
Abstract
This article assumes that the text linguistics does not achieve its own academic goal and show any further progress in the last years. There are two main reasons. Since the begin of the text linguistic it concerned mainly to develop the theories and methodologies, while ignoring the analysis of the individual concrete text sorts. It concerned also to analyze almost only the formal structures of the texts, while disregarding the contents of the text reflecting the human mind and social phenomena. To overcome the status quo the research of the text linguistics must be innovated and have the new research perspectives relating to its possibilities of the interdisciplinary and practical application. For the innovation and new perspectives the text linguistics must concentrate, firstly, on researching the concrete text sorts. The theories and methodologies of the text linguistics should be developed only on the basis of the researching the concrete text sorts. Secondly, the text linguistic should deal with the contents of the texts, which enables to understand the human mind and social phenomena, to find the human and social problems and to contribute to solve such problems. I suggest to call this art of text linguistics ‘text humanities’. As the theoretical and methodological resources of ‘the text humanities’ we can use the existing theories and methodologies of the (text) linguistics, for example text linguistics of the sense according to Coserio, permutation tests int the structural linguistics like deletion, substitution and supplement, macro rules of the van Dike, the theory of illocution hierarchy, the theory of text pattern. These theories and methodologies enable to promote the detailed and accurate analysis of the contents of the text, which desiderata of the research disciplines which also aim the analysis of the text contents like qualitative research and critical discourse analysis.
